For Country and Treason
The engine rumbled softly as she stared blankly ahead of her, resting her hands on the steering wheel. She had gotten stopped at yet another German checkpoint. The officer was going over her papers now. It was everyday a girl in uniform drove up, not unless they were nurses or whatever. But for the girl that wasn't the case. She was a German born girl who had moved to America to go to school. When the war broke out she started recieving threats from her fellow classmates and moved back to Germany, but that was after she had talked to an officer and up the ranks with the Americans to help out the Allied front. Granted, it took some convincing. After all, she was a little no name German girl from Munich. Yet when she returned she made her name known and she was able to enlist with the Germans and finally come face to face with her "brother". She hated that association but it wasn't her fault her dad had a thing for German women and that one bad apple didn't have to spoil the entire bunch.
"Entschuldigung, Fraulein, wie longe bleibst du heir?" The officer said, coming back over with a smirk on his face, handing back her papers. How rude of him, she was a higher rank than him and he used the informal, cocky jerks.
"Drei Tage. Kann ich gehe?" She asked the officer, sitting up in her seat as the officer gave a wave and the checkpoint beam went up allowing her access. She pushed the gas pedal down before the officer could finish his sentence, something about how she should stop for the night on her way back over. She had a mission anyway. There was an allied soldier stationed here, posing as something, some form of spy or another. It wasn't her place to ask. It was only her place to deliver. She parked and made her way to a corner store and bought herself a bottle of water before taking a seat in front of it and pulling out the day old newspaper and pretending to read it, as were her directions. The allied person was suppose to come over to her and ask her the headline. She had no idea who they were, what they looked like, nothing. Just that she had information for him. Honestly, she thought this plan was stupid and that posing like this was stupid. She'd much rather be on the front lines but unfortunately she was born the wrong gender. The only thing she could do was deliver messages and sleep with people in order to get information during pillow talk. Talk about boring. Oh well, at least it was always exciting trying to not get caught, after all, she as being treasonous against her own country. Words: 489 | OPEN! | this sounded a lot better in my head..... all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Mattie Densen was Copenhagen born and raised, just like all the Densen’s that had come before him, as far as he knew about. His ancestry instilled a sense of national pride within the blonde man, something that irked at him with every passing day that the Nazi’s held his country. A sense of pride instilled in both himself and Remiel. It was one of the reasons that his brother had taken initiative with the Modstandsbevægelsen, the Danish Resistance movement. The biggest difference between Mattie and Remiel, the set of twins, was their willing to take initiative. Mattie hadn’t been conscripted in the Danish forces, unlike his brother, who joined the Air Force willingly, he was in training to perform for the Danish Royal Theater before the War had broken out, but his plans were put on a hold to aid his brother the best he could. However, even if Mattie wasn’t much of the military man himself, he was always going to stand by Remi’s side, even if it was at the cost of his life. His brother, a formally well-decorated commanding officer of the Danish Air Force was ousted as a rebel against the Nazi satellite government, therefore causing the Densen family to go underground for a long period of time . Walking among the streets of Copenhagen at this time was far too dangerous for any Resistance member in the right of mind. Mattie had seen all too many of his comrades fall at the arms of the Germans, whether it was from the conflict, or raids on their effort. Remiel shouldn’t have been far from here, from the notes on his abandoned desk in the makeshift Modstandsbevægelsen headquarters, beneath the dim twilight of the sprawling urban atmosphere of Copenhagen, that was all too eerie at night under the German occupation. Mattie wasn’t about to take out his notes though, he was in the presence of the enemy. He knew just enough German to get him by, he had learned in for a few years as a basic requirement for school. That was about where it had ended though. Mattie knew the Gestapo had his brother, and he’d be damned if he left this territory without his brother in arm. The English had hooked him up with the location, to get the captured Remiel out of the hands of the Germans. Mattie walked down the streets, scanning with a careful eye, keeping a look out. He could feign an act easily, but this wasn’t the stage. Here he was, surrounded by the enemy. Looking out of place would be incriminating enough in itself, and Mattie had managed to get in on his own, from Copenhagen to the checkpoints. Supplies were being lifted in from Jutland, and Mattie had snuck in on the back of a supply jet, nearest his destination. It wasn’t a difficult endeavor, but a risky one. Being identified as Remiel’s brother would mean a lot of trouble for him. Mattie noticed a girl sitting down, reading a newspaper. Aha! That was for him. Not the newspaper, but the information on Remiel. Mattie needed his hands on that to commence the rescue operation of his brother. Mattie approached the girl, looking at her blank in the eye. “Excuse me, Miss, you wouldn’t happen to have the headline, would you?”, Mattie asked, in his heavily accented and mediocre German. For Country and Treason
The blonde looked up at the male who spoke the German. She could tell he wasn't fluent but he had that gruff sound that came with any Germanic language. He must have been from around the area, growing up speaking Danish. Felicity couldn't understand a word of it. Sure, if she tried to read what was one a sign or something she had a good chance of figuring it out, but it was so different and sounded more like gibberish to her. She didn't want to seem to have adopted the Germany ideology that they were superior, but she did think German sounded a lot better than Danish.
"Ah, I do." Felicity said as she turned the newspaper over. "500 Nazi bombers strike London: The End is Near" She said, giving the German newspaper headline to the man in English. Despite it all, English was still a common language spoke throughout and it would help translation anyways. "Would you like to read the article?" She asked him, holding out the folded newspaper to him. The sealed enveloped within its folds. It seemed such an innocent act, but she knew what would happen if the man in front of her was actually a Nazi, she would probably be shot here on the sidewalk. But he had done the code word, that must have meant he was her contact. She really wished that the headquarters would give her more information.
She wasn't sure what else to do, the entire situation was awkward. Did he have something for her to give as well? Sometimes that happened and it would leave the German wondering if it was going to be her demise, luckily nothing happened yet and if the German newspaper headline was correct then well, the end would be near. Granted, that would be in Germanys favor. Though the prospect of them losing wasn't sounding too good either. The Blitz had been going on for a month now in London and she had heard stories from some of the British soldiers she had met up with about the impact it was having on the city in just that short amount of time. And then just this summer Paris was taken. The Allies were really struggling and America still refused to enter the war, even if they were sending in supplies under the carpet to England. Germany just kept advancing. Heck, they had even taken Denmark this past April. The year of 1940 just seemed all too much in their favor, granted, the year was almost over, perhaps there would be a turn around, at least, Felicity prayed to God that there would be. god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? “I’ll have to when I get home, but thank you for the article”, Mattie said, with a smile and nod as he took the paper, putting it into his messenger back with a quick glance over the front, keeping the envelope safely tucked away in the confines of the messenger back. He was dumb, sure, but not dumb enough to reveal an envelope of classified information in enemy territory. Mattie had heard something out from distantly behind him, a scuffle of sorts. He had tuned it out due to his lack of extensive knowledge of the German language. He could understand part of what the duo of Nazi officers was saying though. They had targeted a male behind him, accusing him of being a Danish intruder. Mattie could hear it from his accent, sure, but he was positive that he wasn’t the Dane that they were looking for. They were onto him, and he needed to go, and fast. Mattie leaned over into the woman’s ear, whispering quietly. “We need to go now. You and I will both be shot if we stay… I know a way out”, Mattie said, offering a small smile to the woman, as to be as convincing as possible. They couldn’t stall though, they’d have to leave now, while the Nazi officers were still distracted, too distracted to have gone after Mattie and seized the information he just grabbed from an informant. It would have put Mattie, his brother, and this woman at stake. Mattie didn’t even know her, but he just wanted to make sure everyone was okay. Mattie was never fond of conflict, but in the middle of one of the bloodiest wars in history, it was the only way out. Some things just pushed Mattie far enough to drive him to support conflict, instead of being a peaceful neutral. He wouldn’t just leave his family behind. Mattie had to leave though, and he turned to take a quick pace down an alley, cutting a sharp right corner. The blonde man leaned down, his gloved hands catching the grooves of a rusted steel plate and lifting it up, to reveal a ladder into its interior. Mattie began to descend the ladder, careful as to not slip on the grime that coated the ladder. It was wet and smelled rank, but that was to be expected of a sewage system being used for transportation. It was Mattie’s best bet to maneuver the city, even if it did smell inherently disgusting. Mattie took out a flashlight, clicking it on and scanning the area, his other hand reaching into his messenger back with his information safely tucked into it, taking out a map. This place, wherever it was, wasn’t a German hub such as Berlin, so Mattie wouldn’t have to worry about getting shot down here or exposed, it really worked in his favor. For Country and Treason
Felicity smiled at the Dane before looking out onto the street and taking a sip of the water she had bought. She was able to hear the sounds of a nearby scruffle and knit her eyebrows to show her confusion. It was Germans, she could tell from the way they spoke German, Nazis questioning a Dane. God, this wasn't good, not at all. If they were caught it would be execution, or worse, sent to a camp. That was suppose to be confidential information, the camps, but you were a fool if you thought that nothing was going on. Felicity had seen aerial photos of a camp, Dachau. Reportedly there was a crematorium there and showers which was rumored to be hooked up to a gas. It was the thing of nightmares and it killed her to know that there was some in her motherland. She had to think of something, and fast. She couldn't draw too much attention to herself, not that she didn't have the necessary paperwork to be here but there was always so many questions and how many lies could she tell until they bought it? Worst case she'd have to seduce them, she had had to gone that route one too many times than she would like to admit.
Her train of thought was interrupted when the Danish man spoke to her about a way out and then started walking. Could she really trust him? They were on the same side, but what if he was a double agent or something working with the Nazis as well? What if she had been found out? No, she needed to breath, her gut was telling her to follow after him and well, her gut usually worked out. She had a problem with thinking impulsively rather than rationally. So she got up and followed him, making it seem as casual as possible so as not to raise attention. Granted, the opening up a hole in the middle of an alley wasn't suspicious at all. She was freaking out on the inside, thinking of every possible thing that could wrong at this very moment but, she still followed him down and closed the steel plate after her.
The smell was horrible and she almost lost her footing a couple of times. A sewer, just great. "You know, I had papers from Germany, we would have been okay." She said with a hint of irritability distinguishable in her voice. "Who are you anyway? How do I know you're not some double agent sent from the Nazis? Where are we going?" She asked in a very spitfire manner. She was stressed, she was annoyed or anything with the man in front of her, but if anyone saw her escape down here or saw her with a known Danish rebel than well, her cover was blown. No matter how many lies or seduction she played it would be treason and she'd be on the first train into Auschwitz. Words: 512 | Mathias Densen | *serves up a hot fresh reply* By: Jackie

all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me I can't help this awful energy
god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? Mattie shined the flashlight around the path that they ventured down, but he couldn’t help but have a small smile tug at his lips, perhaps it was something to quell some of his worries for his brother. “You would have, maybe. At least until they found out you just handed some classified papers and documents to the twin brother of a notorious Danish rebel, then you’d really be screwed over. Besides, I doubt anyone noticed you out there, I’ll get you out over here safely, just needed to take a shortcut. You might need a shower too”, Mattie said with a chuckle. “As for who I am, just call me Mattie”, the Dane said with a small smile. “And if I remember right from my papers, you’re Felicity Merrimen?” The Danish resistance hadn’t staged the breakout all on their own, they relied on allied assistance to get Remiel back. Ultimately, the one who would get Remiel back was Mattie, the Danish boy had insisted he was the one to go get his brother, even though there were others that were far more qualified and reliable. Mattie had no military background behind himself, unlike his brother Remiel and much of the Danish resistance forces. Mattie merely tagged along with Remiel, the lesser known Densen brother than the one who was a commander. Remiel had a lot more to his record than Mattie, but there was sure to be more once the two brothers freed Denmark. That would have to wait though, first they needed Remiel back.
Mattie didn’t bother stopping in the sewer, he had places to be. He could get there without having to take a large detour, judging from the map. “Besides, I’m not with the Nazis. I’m here to free my brother, who was taken by the Nazis. He’s a political prisoner, they dragged him down here from Copenhagen, and me and the boys tracked him down here. If I don’t get him back fast enough he’ll be on the next train to Dachau. We’re pulling a prison break, I’m going to get in there and get him out”, Mattie said with a small frown. “I’ll drop you off first, don’t worry. There should be an exit not too far up, anyways. I have it all on my map”, Mattie said, waving it around slightly. Mattie looked around, keeping his pace steady before making a full stop, shining his light over another grate, running his light over the numbers just to verify that it was the right stop for him. With a grin on Mattie’s face, he offered the flashlight to Felicity. “Anyhow, this is my stop. As for where you can go to get out, There’s another ladder not too far from here, it shouldn’t be hard to find it… I would go with you but I have to go before anyone gets me”, Mattie said, nodding before patting his belongings to make sure everything was all intact. Finally, Mattie stepped into the grate, and began to ascend the ladder that was concealed in the sealed off corridor from the grate.

For Country and Treason
Felicity gave a slight huff. Saying she would need a shower had to have been the understatement of the century. And this was coming from a girl who lived in Nazi Germany. Plus, how come he was able to have information on her? The sexist twats she worked for her didn't even trust her to give her the name of the contact she needed. Sometimes she really hated being alive in this century, no one took you seriously if you had boobs and a vagina. Half the people thought she got into her position from sleeping up the chain, which wasn't exactly wrong but it wasn't entirely true either, she had skills! She just gave him a nod. "Ja.... Mattie, that sounds like a name for such a harmless man." She said with a slight tease. For all she knew he was the most vicious Danish soldier in the resistance.
Felicity struggled to keep up with the Dane. He had the advantage of wearing pants, then again, if she had planned to jump down into a sewer she would have worn pants as well, even if it would have been a social suicide for her. She honestly loved pants a lot more than the dresses and skirts everyone else in her gender was trained to wear since birth. Yay for gender norms. But pants gave her so much more freedom, nothing getting caught between her legs or worry about wind blowing some up. She had a lot more flexibility that would allow her to look decent. That wasn't to say she didn't like wearing dresses or skirts either, just if she had the choice she would prefer pants, though she did like the feminine feeling of dresses and how she could easily play boy whose eye she was able to catch. Which speaking of, this guy seemed far too focused on his mission, didn't even bat an eyelash at her. Either he was already with a girl or that really wasn't the way he swung. At least that was what her ego was telling her.
"What? No, I can help. You don't need to drop me off, I can come in handy, I promise! You might need some German, right? Do you speak any? You're not about to just leave me after telling me about this adventure, how rude." Felicity said stubbornly before following up after him. This always happened, people thinking that she wouldn't help or whatever all because she wasn't a soldier. She knew how to fight. She was helpful. How come everyone else got the fun? Though, she knew it was a serious matter, she was quite capable of helping out and she would be determined to do so.

god damn right you should be scared of me who is in control? “I mean, it’s not my real name, but it’s what I like to be called. I don’t really like giving out my full name unless I have to”, Mattie said with a small shrug. His name sounded well, incredibly formal to say the least, and he’d been called Mattie as a nickname he far preferred to Mathias, the professionality of such didn’t matter much to him. He wasn’t like Remi, who’d go off at someone who called him the wrong name, but Mattie did appreciate it if he were to be called simply Mattie. Besides, Mattie was likely the only one who could get away with calling Remiel Remi, only people Remi actually liked were allowed to call him that, and especially not anyone else during wartime. Remiel would have backhanded anyone to Berlin and back who called him Remi if they were beneath him, which most of the chain of command was. And Christ forbid ANYONE call him a variation of the following : “Remmers”, “Remi-poo”, or “Flaky ass pastry”. Mattie would have pitied the fate of anyone with enough balls to say any of the following to Remi’s face. “I didn’t think you’d want to come along, guess I was wrong about that, heh”, Mattie said with a smile, as he scaled the ladder. “I really could use the extra help though, especially with the language… Between my shoddy German and accent, I could get busted real quick, hey.”, Mattie said, looking down at Felicity every so often just to check to see if she was following suit with him well. Most of Mattie’s friends were female, anyways, back in Denmark, and Mattie never quite precisely fit into the perfect masculine gender role, there was always something about him that was off, and he couldn’t quite put a finger on it. Kissing girls and having girlfriends, while Mattie had both of those, was never quite right, and Mattie could just never put words to how it never fit how the rest of the world said it was meant to feel, to him, females were more friends than romantic attractions, not that he really would know or understand why at the time.
Mattie pushed the next gate open, holding the door open for Felicity before climbing up it and back into the outside world. Ah, the smell of fresh non-sewer air was definitely a relief for Mattie to smell. But alas, he still had work to do, which would again consist of more crawling into uncomfortable spaces. The sewage system had led him to the interior of the German prison, all Mattie needed now was a way to truly deceive his way in. After all, Mattie was actor, he had built a career of glorified lying, and there was truly a place for everything in the warfield, all Mattie could put out was the best he could in a valiant attempt to defend his family and his nation, a dying call against the Nazi invaders.
Without saying a word to Felicity, Mattie motioned to a door across the hall of the corridor, which was unmarked, and left unlocked, from Mattie’s notes, in his bag, this would have been a janitorial closet, and he had gotten his timing right as well, with one of the prison’s guards taking a smoke break. Mattie reached into his bag for a rag and dark bottle, dunking a good portion of the bottle into the fibers of the rag and swirling it into his hand, before he made a lunge for the guard, leaping in one swift movement to cup his wrist around the guard, taken aback by Mattie’s quick moves, his muffled noises to quiet to be heard as they gentle faded into the rag, and shortly after, the guard’s struggling form fell limp. Mattie offered a grin to Felicity, motioning for her to follow him before opening the supply closet and hoisting the limp guard over his shoulders and into the supply closet, before taking off his clothing in exchange for the German prison guard’s uniform.

For Country and Treason
Felicity bit back an argument. He had just thought she wouldn't want to tag along, which she couldn't blame him for thinking like that, any sane person would have ditched when they had the chance. This was a killing spree war. It didn't stop for civilian or soldier, if you were the enemy you were shot pretty much. But then again, when did Felicity ever take the easy way out? She purposely put herself in the line of fire more times than she could count. She was reckless and never thought things through to the end, yet people still put her trust in her. Not a bad thing, she was always able to get whatever job that was needed to be done done. She just did it in her own unique way.
"It's okay, I surprise most people by wanting to tag along, even if I am a girl." She said, with a huff, okay so she wasn't able to keep her comment to herself but a lot of people just though all she was good for was spreading her legs to people. She wasn't a sex toy! She was a person too and she was just as capable at doing things as others were. Sexism was, in her opinion, absolutely stupid. "See, so you do need me. How else are you suppose to know where you're going? It's all in German, after all." She said with a slight smirk. The language, while it was rough and most people found disgusting was very useful and she thought it had it's own unique attractive qualities to it. Better than french, that just sounds like a drunk man who wants to seduce and is just going to end in an epic failure.
The smaller female kept up with the Dane as best she could and when she finally got fresh air it was well, a breath of fresh air compared to the horrendous smell of the sewers. She wasn't sure if she would ever be able to get the stench off of her. She looked around, not sure what it was but she saw signs that gave directions to different levels. She figured it must have been a building turned into a prison for the situation, she wasn't the one with the plans. She was a tad distracted that she almost didn't see the guard and if it wasn't for Mattie doing what he needed to do she might have blown their cover, even so she had to quickly cover her mouth as a loud, surprised gasp left her. She wasn't new to violence but it still surprised her. She followed Mattie into the supply closet and had to look away as he changed, hiding a blush from her face. She instead occupied herself by looking at what was around her that could be useful. Nothing much, just cleaning supplies.
Felicity looked back over at the Dane and arched an eyebrow, the uniform suited him well, she seemed out of place. She wasn't sure... that was it. She smiled up at him. "You're the guard, seems like you need a prisoner. You could have been a volunteer one from Denmark when we started the occupation. I can serve my purpose as a spy, it's okay, if things go south I'll figure something out, you need to just get to your brother better." Felicity offered with an encouraging smile. It was definitely risky, that was for sure. If there was an officer who knew who she was at this building and decided to actually look into her then she would be on the first train to Auschwitz. At least she would have died honorably. She just wanted to help out as much as she could in the war and this was her chance to do so.
