Aoide is normally a very quiet and observant girl, sometimes preferring to watch. She isn't extremely hyper and over ecstatic, but gentle and soft. She is also very mature for her age, and is often seen trying to read rather than get mixed up in trouble. She doesn't like physical contact, unless it's someone she knows. Aoi can be too trusting when shown affection, after all she is still pretty much a child and craves a mother figure. Aoide is also quite curious, almost to the point of being nosy. She is innocent in every sense, free from physically witnessing the damage that the war caused. She is....surrounded by a shining bubble of innocence that is not easily invaded. Neither does she have blood on her hands or the weight on her shoulders from taking a life.
One of her favorite things to do is read, as she has quite a few books in Ancient Greek. She likes the feeling of the paper under her fingers, not understanding why people would want to read on a device. Aoide also loves to play and run when only her friends are around, letting them see another side of her. If she does not trust someone, they will know immediately by the way she looks at him or her and treats them. To friends and trusted ones, her smiles come easily. Her eyes turn bright, sparkling. She wants to see the whole world and experience things. Aoi wants to love everything she can to fill the hole in her heart. Most of all, she wants a family. She wants a mother and father, and siblings so she will never be alone. She doesn't want to be forgotten.
There is a bitterness stuck in her heart, for her mother that sent her away from the island that she was born on and for the father that she grew up with. Aoide has known neither. She took her first steps without them there watched by an old couple that had found her. She was tucked in at night by a lady with grey hair and a smile that she loved and felt guilty for wishing for another woman. But she speaks of it to no one, keeping it close to her. Of course, now that she is older she could understand more. Bitterness turns to anger, anger turning into sadness that makes her innocence all the more heartbreaking. She walks with good posture, carrying herself like a girl older than fifteen.
When Aoide is upset, she's prone to running and away and hiding. Nearly nothing can get her to come out when she's curled up in a tight ball, letting herself dwell on what happened. Aoi has told herself to never cry in front of others, believing that it's weakness. She's convinced that no one will stay with her and that everyone will forget about her. She's convinced that she is meant to be alone no matter how hard she tries. Her deepest fear and emotion is loneliness. But most people see a young girl that could either be kind, compassionate or beautiful like her mother or when she is angered, someone hard and emotionless like her father.

History

When Baltazar Teach left the island of Ogygia, he couldn't have known that Calypso was with child. Since no one really came, her only companion was her child. The whole pregnancy Calypso sang to her unborn baby, and when the girl was born she named her daughter Aoide-"to sing." The baby was bright-eyed and happy, a perfect little thing that Calypso loved. At first, she was selfish. An infant did not have the mental capacity to decide to leave this cursed island. Aoide did not have another life that called her back. At first, Calypso could not think of a reason to not keep her daughter. They went on walks around the island, Calypso singing the whole time. With her loom she weaved golden baby clothes for her child, lost in the beauty of someone who would not leave her. She crowned Aoide's head with the most beautiful flowers from her garden, content. But even that came to an end. She soon realized that her daughter would not be able to age. Calypso soon realized that it was horribly selfish of her to keep Aoide on Ogygia. Here, her child could not grow and live life. Though she loved Aoide very much, she had to send her away.
It was a raft that Calypso made that carried her daughter away on the waves, to Sicily. An old couple found her in Palermo, taking the baby in as their children were all moved out. In her blanket they found a note addressed to them, telling of her importance to her mother. When she was five years old she began to sing, her adoptive parents calling her "Calandra"-skylark. They never minded her climbing into their bed at night when she had nightmares, and spoiling her whenever she wanted something. Aoide knew that she had been found by them, but didn't mind. She loved them with all of her heart. However, it didn't last. On vacation in the United States, they got into a horrible crash with her surviving but not her adoptive parents. She only spoke a little bit of English at eight years old, afraid. The authorities took her away and placed her in an orphanage in New York.
The adults there were kind. They put her in school where she learned English, though she never forgot the language she had been growing up with. A young couple who had no children yet visited the orphanage, marveling at how well-behaved she was. They practically fell head-over-heels with sympathy when they heard what had happened to her. The two introduced themselves to Aoide as Micah and Brianna, spending time with her before signing the adoption papers. Brianna sat in the backseat with her new daughter the whole way home, making her laugh. Together they decorated her room, blasting music. For her ninth birthday, she was sent the note that her other parents had found in her blanket. It took awhile, but Briana and Micah started calling her her birth name instead of Calandra. When Aoide was ten years old, Brianna gave birth to a baby boy-Alexander. She loved holding him and singing to him, convinced that his presence meant no unintentional harm to her life in the house. Her parents were still kind to her and loved her, but a baby demands and needs more attention than a ten year old. At eleven she started to help them take care of him, unable to feel the resentment that an older sibling sometimes feels for a baby.
It was at that age that she began to think that while Brianna and Micah loved her, they couldn't love her as much they did their own child that looked like them. The four would go out in public and while they saw Briana's light hair and blue eyes, Micah's black hair and brown eyes, Alex's bright hair and brown eyes, they saw Aoide's dark hair and green eyes. She felt like an outsider, but never said anything. On her twelfth birthday, she read further into the note and was surprised to discover that she could read the second half. Though she had trouble reading before, the words were clear. Her mother was Calypso the goddess nymph, who lived on Ogygia. She also learned that she had to be sent away from the island if she were to grow up in hopes of finding her father, Baltazar Teach-a son of Poseidon. To learn what she was put her in even greater danger.
What she learned had the monsters find her and her adopted family one day, and in their struggle they lost Alex. They were only spared when a fifteen year old girl with long dark hair and gray eyes killed the monster and took the corpse away. Losing a child took a toll on her parents, the couple splitting up and Aoide being placed back in the foster system. Tragedy seemed to cling to her, and for the next three years she bounced from system to system and state to state before she stole money from her last set of parents and took a bus to South Carolina where she found the joint camp. Aoide saw the remnants of Camp Halfblood's campers joined by Romans of Camp Jupiter. Calypso claimed her there around a small group of people, and she knew that she had found a real home. She was Aoide Teach, a daughter of Calypso and legacy of Poseidon.

CALYPSO ABILITIES
[HEALING TOUCH] Calypso was an immortal known for her abilities of magic use and healing, while the two may have played hand in hand the difference in her daughter is major. Aoide has shown potential for magic abilities however her magic seems to be focused more on a healing touch than anything else. Unlike a child of Apollo, Aoide does not have to sing or praise a god to use this ability, it comes to her naturally. While she is strong in this ability the problem is that its uncertain exactly how much this power will affect her. Many people might mistake her for an Apollo child at first however unlike the Apollo children who can heal Aoides whole body will glow and her eyes will turn a pure white. If concentration is broken during her healing the wound will stop healing from where she has lost it.
[LIMITATIONS] Wounds come in all shapes and sizes, While she is able to heal gashes, small cuts, and broken bones after resetting them of course she can not heal limbs that have been severed or removed. The larger the wound to heal the more focus and strength it will take from Aoide. If she heals to many large wounds she takes a risk of collapsing and doing mental damage to herself. Aoide must be careful when healing someone she will not be able to focus on anything else putting herself at risk to me harmed from a surprise attack.
LEGACY ABILITIES
[MINOR HYDROKINESIS] Being a daughter of a son of Poseidon, Aoide has been gifted with some minor control of the sea water in which her grandfather controls. She can breath underwater for a short amount of time, when in the water she will become slightly stronger than if she is not in the water making her a healing touch much more amplified when she is in the water. Aoide can manipulate the water to make small waves however unlike a child of Poesidon or Oceanus she can not actually control large bodies of water she can control more like puddle sized bodies.
NATURAL ABILITIES
Aoide has some natural abilities from both her mother and her father seeing as she is a demigod. Aoide from her mother was gifted with a young appearance, Calypso was known for looking younger than most immortals and tends to have a beautiful "natural" appearance. Aoide like her mother has a young and natural appearance. From her father Aoide has some minor Poseidon abilities she can navigate on the seas like a child of the sea god, she can speak to aquatic life, and she has minor control as seen in her legacy abilities.
